Climb up Dragons Teeth in the Kahurangi National Park

Hike/Climb Dragons Teeth, Kahurangi National Park

Each week, we highlight our fave tramping trails in New Zealand for day and multi day hikes across Nelson Tasman (and beyond!)

DRAGONS TEETH, KAHURANGI NATIONAL PARK

Dragons Teeth/Anatoki Peak in the Douglas Range is one for the very experienced hikers who have some big balls! ‼️⚠️ Climbing experience needed.

This route can be approached from the north or south but safer to go the northern route which is climbing up 🧗

A 4-6 day round trip taking you from Collingwood, past Boulder Lake and can include huts & camping spots at Adelaide Tarn, Lonely Lake and Anatoki Spur. There is no particular marked route through the dragons teeth section, so talking with someone who has done it before and sharing map info is helpful and highly recommended for a safer passage through.

Weather must be perfect to attempt this location 👌🏽

Good navigation skills and GPS system are required. Good luck adventurers!

Cheers @fletcher.phelan for the pics! Congrats on your mission boys.
