Hike to Wainui Falls, Golden Bay

Hike to Wainui Falls, Golden Bay

A short walk through lush native bush of nikau palms, rata trees and ferns. This track takes you alongside the Wainui River where there are plenty of spectacular granite boulders and a long swing bridge to enjoy.

Wainui Falls itself is the largest falls in Golden Bay and is definitely worth the visit!

Getting there:
Head 20km past Takaka to Wainui Bay. The track begins from a car park at Wainui Bay - look for the signpost about 300m after crossing the Wainui River bridge.
