Lake Slyvester, Kahurangi National Park
This is the perfect quick getaway hut right next to Lake Sylvester. Perfect for a date night or cool family trip! ☺️
Located in the Kahurangi National Park, it’s just a short 1-3 hour walk depending on your fitness from the carpark. It’s steep but short at only a 5km route to the hut 👌🏽
Park up in the Sylvester Hut Track Car park, Cobb Dam Road, Tasman 7073
The drive there takes about 2 hours from Nelson, you head up the Cobb Valley over the ridge to the Cobb Reservoir. A four wheel drive is recommended for this one, especially during winter with ice and snow.
Lake Sylvester is another 1 km away from the hut and there are amazing places to camp 🏕️ here. The area offers loads of other tracks and lakes to visit like Diamond Lake and Iron Lake and Iron Mountain.
